The Leg-Selling Hag

The third urban legend! A humble peddler of spare limbs, the Leg-Selling Hag is a fairly well known legend. When she asks “do you need a leg?”, saying either yes or no will damn you in some way. Answering “yes” will give you extra legs, while answering “no” will cause her to take the ones you already have, cutting them off with her scythe (how else do you think she gets that big stock?). The safest answer is to direct her to someone else, who she will find and pose the same question to. Theoretically, it’s possible to skirt the consequences if you have multiple people agree to say “I don’t know, ask X” in a loop. Almost sounds like something from one of my shows… There’s apparently multiple variants of the leg-selling hag, one who sells arms, fingers, eyes, or any other body parts you can think of.

This arc doesn’t revolve around trying to avoid the legend though, Kaiki goes straight for it. He’s a little weirdo. Let’s see how that goes for him!

Fun fact: Rogie uses the personal pronoun あっし (asshi) here, a little pun on the fact that he sells 足 (ashi).

Thank you all so much for this new arc!!! A lot of fans wonder and speculate if Rogie will become the main villain of the series. He’s a well crafted opposite to Uramon and people reacted well to the dynamic. A whole year of serialization, and we still only have hints at Uramon’s real back story, but Tamura has kept it exciting. Looking forward to Volume 2 coming out end of June. Also, very glad they finally posted that second one-shot chapter, that was a good one that newer readers may have otherwise missed.
